Databases Today
The use of databases is no longer solely the realm of Fortune 500 cash cows. Even local independently owned small businesses leverage database technology, on some level, to store, track and make sense of various aspects of their business. Databases in essence are a structured set of records/data that are stored on a server to enable various queries to be performed creating a database management system (DBMS).
Janmedia creates “relational databases” which alleviates the need to have the same record redundantly referenced in several sections of a database, but rather stores data once and references it as many times as needed which results in a less resource intensive implementation.
Common database technologies employed by Janmedia include:
- Oracle
- PostgreSQL
- IBM DB2
- MS SQL
- MySQL
- MS Access
